Aims

The course will provide learners with an overview of how-to layout trays for the washer disinfector and how to load the wash carriage correctly. 

Objectives

On completion of this course learners will be able to:

• Understand the risks associated with receiving potentially contaminated items into the wash area.
• Understand how to sort and segregate instruments for their required cleaning process.
• Explain the issue of shadowing and how to resolve it.
• Understand the requirements for WD planned maintenance and testing.
• Explain the daily WD test requirements completed by technicians.
• Understand loading considerations for wash carriages.
• Explain the requirements for washing sterilization containers in the WD.
