Aims

To provide an understanding of the types of ultrasonic washers available, of the types of medical devices that are suitable for cleaning in ultrasonic washers. Also explain how ultrasonic washers clean and how they are routinely tested.

• Understand the limitations on their use.
• Understand the type of detergents that should be used to maximise the effectiveness of ultrasonic washers.
