ED04 - Product Release, Storage & Transportation
Aims
To provide an understanding of product release, transportation, storage and tracking and tracing of decontaminated flexible endoscopes and how these contribute to the safety of patients.
Objectives
During this course the learner will:
- Gain an understanding of product release.
- Understand the timeline of endoscope usage following decontamination.
- Be aware of the differences between storage and controlled environment (drying) cabinets.
- Understand the principles of track and tracing of endoscopes throughout the decontamination process and the impact on patient safety.
- Be aware of information provided by labeling and electronic data and how this aids patient association.
