Aims

The course explains the different types of endoscopes in use and provide a basic understanding of how they work and how they are controlled. 

Objectives

On completion of this course learners will be able to

  • Identify the three main sections of a flexible endoscope.

  • Understand the structure of endoscopes.

  • Explain the differences between a fibre optic and a video endoscope.

  • Explain how flexible endoscopes are controlled.
