Aims

To ensure the learner understands labelling requirements for trays and supplementary instruments, including the information required, and what label symbols mean. 

Objectives

After completing this course learners will be able to:

• Understand the different labels used in SSDs and why they are used.
• Understand the information required on the labels.
• Understand the different symbols used on labels and why they are used.
• Explain the different requirements of the labels when it comes to indicators and patient association.
• Explain the importance of using labels to identify trays with missing items.
