Aims

This course provides an understanding of the environmental aspects of a decontamination department, covering room designs, sources of environment contamination and how to they can be reduced. 

Objectives

On completion of this module learners will be able to

• Identify the main sources of environmental contamination.
• Understand how room design can reduce environmental contamination.
• Understand about segregation of decontamination areas for both SSD and EDU.
• Understand about contamination from the air and how this is managed. 
• Explain the importance of a clearly defined cleaning schedule for the full department.
