Aims

The aim of this course is to be able to recognise and respond to signs of medical emergencies associated with diabetes.

Objectives

During this course you will learn:

  • The difference between type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes.​
  • About the prevalence of diabetes in the UK.​
  • About the complications of diabetes.​
  • What actions individuals can take to reduce their risk of complications from diabetes. ​
  • About possible signs and symptoms of diabetes and how it is diagnosed.​
  • How diabetes is managed and monitored.​
  • How to manage hypoglycaemia.​
  • To signpost individuals, families and carers to advice, support and information about diabetes.
