Aims

This course will provide learners with an understanding of decontamination track and trace systems, the requirements of managing the system, and how it supports the department and users of the decontaminated instruments. 

Objectives

After completion of this module learners will:

  • Understand the purpose of the track and trace system.
  • Be able to explain functions of the system that will support the process.
  • Be able to explain functions of the system that will support the user of the instruments.
  • Understand the requirements of a track and trace system.
  • Understand how the system can support patient association.
  • Understand the need for regular auditing and validation of the system.
